FBC Goes COP28 - Beach Clean Up
2023 has been named the Year of Sustainability in the UAE. The highlight will be COP28, the 28th UN Climate Change Conference, taking place in Expo City Dubai in December.
Finnish Business Council is organizing a series of sustainability related events and activities leading up to COP28 - one of them being a beach clean up together with Goumbook and their Save The Butts Campaign
Save the Butts – Waste to Value' is the first sustainability initiative run in the UAE that adopts a Circular Economy approach to environmental pollution, by converting discarded cigarette butts into a sustainable alternative to plywood. Engaging with community members to clean the environment by collecting cigarette butts from public and private locations such as beaches, showing the value of their impact.
