FBC organizes more repatriation flights in July and August

As we know that many Finns in the UAE could not take the repatriation flight in early June, we are organizing another flight on the 3rd of July. A Return flight from Helsinki can be booked for 15th of August.

As for the GDRFA permit required in order to return to Dubai, we urge everyone to follow the latest information about the application process provided by the airline and authorities, as this might change with short notice. As per the information we have today, Fly Dubai does not require a permit in order to book a return flight, however authorities recommend that you should have a permit before booking any return flight to Dubai.

The repatriation flight is primarily for Finnish citizens, however transit passengers are allowed. Transit passengers and non Finnish citizens can check live updates on entry rules through the link below. (Click Finland on the map and you will see all the latest updates)

Please note: Passengers are expected to have made all necessary travel arrangements directly with Fly Dubai and made enquiries with the applicable authorities in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and in Finland with respect to each passenger’s respective entry, exit and transit requirements of each such jurisdiction. Finnish Business Council UAE Stakeholder Survey

Dear Finnish Business Community members,

Finnish Business Council in the UAE is continuously working on improving its’ member services. In the ongoing and foreseeable COVID-19 economic downturn in the coming years, FBC would like to find new and innovative ways to support Finnish companies and Finnish interest in the UAE in the GCC region at large.

For this purpose, we conduct this member survey to map the areas where we can add the most value to your ongoing of planned operations in the region. The results will be used as a part of the FBC strategy renewal process and planning for the service and event roadmap for the coming years. 

The survey is targeted to the 1) existing FBC members, 2) non-member Finnish companies operating in the UAE, as well as 3) Finnish companies seeking for opportunities to enter the market or joining Expo2020. It consists of ten questions and a background question, and takes 5-10 minutes to complete. The answers will be handled anonymously.

Suomen Abu Dhabin -suurlähetystön kuulumiset

Koronaepidemian etenemisen myötä suurlähetystömme on keskittynyt ensisijaisesti poikkeustilanteen vaatimiin ydintehtäviin kuten hädässä olevien suomalaisten auttamiseen, tiedottamiseen sekä analysoimaan ja ennakoimaan koronaviruksen aiheuttamia muutoksia ja näistä raportoimiseen valtionhallinnolle ja muille relevanteille tahoille.

Merkittävä ponnistus oli ulkoministeriön, Finnairin ja muiden Pohjoismaiden kanssa yhteistyössä järjestetty kotiutuslento Dubaista Helsinkiin 7.4.2020. Lennolla lähti matkaan yhteensä 223 Suomen, Ruotsin, Norjan, Tanskan ja muun EU-maan kansalaista ja oleskeluluvan haltijaa. Lento järjestettiin lähinnä kotiinpaluun mahdollistamiseksi niille matkailijoille, jotka eivät olleet voineet palata kotimaihinsa Arabiemiirikuntien suljettua 24.3.2020 lentokenttänsä osana koronaviruksen leviämisen vastaisia toimia. Sittemmin kaupalliset lentoyhteydet ovat jälleen mahdollistaneet matkustamisen myös Suomeen eikä uusia kotiutuslentoja ole edustustollamme tällä hetkellä suunnitteilla.

Rakennamme nyt kuluvan vuoden työsuunnitelmaamme osin uudelleen – paitsi pandemian sanelusta myös erityisesti Dubain maailmannäyttelyn siirryttyä alkavaksi vuotta suunniteltua myöhemmin. Konsulikiireiden tasaannuttua edustustomme jatkaa myös esimerkiksi vienninedistämistoimia ja muuta Team Finland -työtä yhteistyössä Business Finlandin kanssa mahdollisuuksien mukaan.

Edustuston henkilökunta on työskennellyt etätyöjärjestelyin huhtikuun alusta alkaen. Vaikka edustuston asiakaspalvelu on kiinni, palvelemme yhä kiireellisissä tapauksissa, kuten esimerkiksi umpeutuvien passien uusimisessa.
